After Pinnacles we drove north to the Bay Area. We first stopped at Stanford to visit my ancient friend, Kyle, at his office. We toured around campus a bit and spent the night at Half Moon Bay.
The next day we drove into San Francisco and did most of the touristy things including: driving down Lombard Street (twice), walking along Fishermans Wharf and getting chocolate at Ghirardelli Square. We didn't ride the cable cars as it didn't seem worth $70 to wait in line and go up and down a hill.
We escaped the masses and took a scenic drive through the Presido to Baker Beach. We then explored Golden Gate Park and drove to the top of Twin Peaks before going to dinner with Jamie's childhood friend, Patty and her fiance.
We finally left San Francisco with a drive across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and set our sights for Sonoma.
