2016 Road Trip - Monument Valley

With two national parks behind us we took a side trip to Monument Valley just south of the Utah's border. The area was filled with various red rock buttes which have been featured in various western movies and more recently in Forrest Gump. We got to get up close to the buttes via a rough 17 mile dirt road which the minivan could barely handle. Prior to our visit we stayed in the small town of Bluff. Though the population was only around 300 we were able to find nice accommodations at La Pasada Pintada and an amazing meal at San Juan River Kitchen.
