Our final day at Antarctica included repeats of previous activities. In the morning the ship stopped at Wilhelmina Bay and we took a zodiac tour around the area. We saw more icebergs, seals and humpback whales along with a shipwreck from 1915. We had lucked out with sunny weather on the first three days, but this day was overcast and more of the norm for Antarctic weather.
The ship sailed to Palavar Point for the afternoon and we landed at a chinstrap penguin colony. We took a short hike up to a ledge where we found penguins nesting with cute fluffy chicks. We returned to a zodiac for one final tour. Along the way we got a close up view of a leopard seal dining on a fish it caught.
We were soon back at the ship and we began the two day journey back to Argentina. We had done many amazing things during the past four days. I was a bit tired out, but was very satisfied with the whole experience. To think I was worried about missing a day at the start of the voyage. Four days was easily enough to make the trip worthwhile.
