Fremont Lookout Hike

We traveled to Sunrise at Mount Rainier for a family-friendly hike to the Fremont Lookout. I thought by arriving at the park by 8 AM we would avoid the crowds, but I was wrong. We waited an hour and a half to just reach the entrance. During the wait, we were forced to have some quality family time as our phones had no service. Once at Sunrise, we started the hike with blue skies above us, but soon the clouds moved in and obscured everything. There were no views along the cloud-covered rocky traverse, but there were various wildflowers in bloom which stood out from the gloom. Once at the lookout, we found it unsurprisingly surrounded by fog. After a short break, we headed back. Along the way, the clouds let go and turned into rain, which led to a wet return to the car. Despite the long wait, the clouds, and the rain, we enjoyed the hike.
