Oregon Trip - Smith Rock

Family Reunion | Biking | High Desert Museum | Smith Rock

Most of the Fry family got up early for a morning hike at the nearby Smith Rock State Park. The area is made up of a long rocky ridge consisting of steep faces that are popular for rock climbing. We instead did a 4-mile loop hike that climbed 900 feet to the ridge top, down to the other side, and back around the formation along the Crooked River. Despite starting early, the hike was hot, but the family did fine. Lily particularly enjoyed watching birds off the cliffs and along the river.
