Lance got their adult road bike last year, but this year is when they began to put in more miles cycling. Lance did their first organized ride at the Emerald City Ride in April. We joined thousands of other cyclists on a ride from downtown Seattle to West Seattle and back. The 20-mile route was a bit hilly for Lance, but it was a beautiful day and fun to share the road with other riders.

We've done several rides along the Green River and Interurban trails and one ride up to the Seattle waterfront where Lance had to learn about making abrupt stops and clipping quickly out of their new pedals. I've made Lance suffer on some neighborhood hill rides, which is a work in progress. We're far from ready for the STP, but that will be for another year.
